Building a Stronger Foundation
Welcome to True Ally — a Canada-based trauma-informed consulting and therapy practice. We support organizations, teams, and individuals to strengthen leadership, enhance psychological safety, and create meaningful, sustainable change.
Sharlene Gumbs is the Founder and Principal of True Ally, a trauma-informed consulting and therapy practice based in Canada. She brings a background in social work, clinical practice, and organizational leadership to support individuals, teams, and organizations navigating change, complexity, and high-demand environments.
Sharlene’s work sits at the intersection of people and systems. She partners with organizations to strengthen leadership capacity, enhance psychological safety, and integrate trauma-informed approaches in ways that are practical, ethical, and sustainable. Her approach is grounded in real-world experience and emphasizes collaboration, context-awareness, and long-term impact over quick fixes.
In addition to her consulting and training work, Sharlene provides individual therapy rooted in trauma-informed, relational practice. Across all areas of her work, she is guided by a commitment to care, integrity, and creating conditions where people and organizations can do their best work.
